KETTERING, Ohio -- Senior Drake Bushong earned his fifth top-20 finish of the year, taking 17th at the Flyer Invitational, and Bradley Men's Golf continued its steady climb up the standings to finish sixth in the 12-team field at the three-round event which wrapped up the 2008 Fall schedule for the Braves.

After a rough start which saw Bradley 12th following an opening round 305 during Monday morning's first round at the par-71 NCR Country Club South Course, the Braves recovered to shoot the best second round (285) Monday afternoon before wrapping up the event with a six-over 290 Tuesday.

Bradley finished at 28-over 880 to finish sixth in the final tournament of the fall, which saw the Braves post five of the lowest 18, 54-hole team scores in program history.  Davidson claimed the team title at nine-over par 861, thanks in part to a 284 on the final day for the lowest round of the tournament.  Tournament-host Dayton and Illinois State tied for second at 14-over 866.

Bradley was six shots back of fourth-place Purdue Fort Wayne (874) and just three behind fifth-place Marshall (877).  The Braves edged out Bowling Green (7th - 881) by one shot for sixth overall.

Bushong matched his second-round score with a par-71 during Tuesday's action to finish alone in 17th at five-over 218 as he missed a spot in the top 10 by two strokes.  Bushong moved into a tie for 10th in career rounds played at Bradley with his 113th round as a Brave as the senior capped a fall season in which he posted a team-best 72.13 stroke average and placed in the top 20 in all five outings.

Joining Bushong in the top 20 was fellow senior Michael Mounce, who was two shots behind his teammate in a tie for 20th at seven-over 220.  Mounce entered the day one shot ahead of Bushong after rounds of 76 and 70 Monday and turned in a three-over 74 in the final round.

Junior Charles Jahn had fired a 77 and career-best two-under 69 during Monday's play to start Tuesday's final round tied with Mounce at four-over 146.  Jahn wrapped up the tournament with a five-over 76 to tie for 30th at nine-over (222) to finish off a fall in which he was second on the squad with a 72.67 stroke average.

Senior Daniel Lensing saved his best round of the tournament for Tuesday's final round, posting a one-over 72 to move up into a tie for 41st at 11-over 224 in the final individual standings.

Also turning in their best round of the tournament on the final day was senior Branden Mounce, who shot a two-over 73 Tuesday.  Branden had fired a pair of 76's during Monday's action and closed the tournament one back of Lensing at 12-over 225 in a tie for 45th to round out the scoring for Bradley.

The Braves will open the 2019 Spring schedule Feb. 25 & 26 at the Colin Montgomerie Invitational in Spring, Texas.
