Gabi Haack Named COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore guard Gabi Haack (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping Bradley Women's Basketball improve to 8-0 on the year with an 80-60 win at Omaha last Friday.

Haack hit a trio of three-pointers and finished with 14 points, five rebounds and one block in the road win against the Mavericks as the Braves remained undefeated on the young season. She scored eight points during the second quarter, helping Bradley turn what was a four-point deficit into a 10-point halftime lead. Haack is fifth in the Missouri Valley Conference in scoring at 16.1 points per game and has hit a league-best 3.0 three-pointers per contest. An elementary education major, Haack owns a 3.69 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Haack and Bradley Women's Basketball are back in action this afternoon, taking on Cleveland State in a 4 p.m. (CST) road game.
