PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior forward Chelsea Brackmann (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping Bradley Women's Basketball split a pair of road games last week.

Brackmann turned in a pair of double-doubles, averaging 13.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game in two road outings.  She had 14 points, 11 rebounds and two assists as she helped Bradley rally from 11 points down to pull out a 67-65 win at Cleveland State Wednesday as the Braves matched the best start in program history (9-0).  Brackmann followed it up with her fourth double-double in the last five games and team-best fifth double-double of the season at Purdue.  The leading rebounder in the MVC, she tallied 12 points, 12 boards, one block and two steals against the Boilermakers, helping the Braves trim a 27-point third quarter deficit to seven points in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter. A health science major, Brackmann owns a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Brackmann and the Braves close out the non-conference portion of the schedule Friday, hosting Chicago State in a 7 p.m. contest at Renaissance Coliseum.
