Ames, Iowa – Junior David Shadid broke his own school record in the 400m run on Saturday afternoon to lead the Bradley track team at the second day of the Iowa State Classic.

Shadid recorded a time of 48.26 to top his previous standard of 48.52 (set last season) by 0.26 seconds. Shadid, who also owns the program's record in the 200m and 600m, now ranks sixth in the Valley this season in the 400m.

Four other Braves were in action on Saturday, highlighted by another strong performance from senior Daniel Gagne in the mile run. Gagne recorded a time of 4:01.33 to place third in a strong field of 46 with his time the second best in school history, trailing only his own school record of 4:00.39 set two weeks ago. Classmate Taylor Floyd Mews placed 14th in the mile with a time of 4:05.91.

Sophomore Alec Hartman ran the 800m to round out the day for the BU men, recording a time of 1:51.92.

Junior Brooke Nusser ran the mile for the Bradley women, just missing her PR with a time of 4:55.98.

The Braves are back in action next weekend, competing EIU Friday Night Special and Notre Dame's Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday in the final meets before the Missouri Valley Conference Championship.
