South Bend, Ind. – Sophomore Alec Hartman broke his own school record in the 800m run to highlight the day for the Bradley track and field teams at Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational on Saturday.

Hartman clocked a time of 1:50.32 to finish second of 46 runners competing at Notre Dame. Hartman's mark is 1.6 seconds quicker than his previous record, set last season. The sophomore also owns the top time in the Missouri Valley Conference this year (next fastest in the conference is 1:52.20), while his mark ranks as the 30th quickest in the country heading into the weekend.

Overall, it was a record day for Bradley as eight additional Braves recorded top-10 times in school history.

Junior David Shadid and sophomore Scott Seymour finished right behind Hartman in the 800m run and recorded the second and third fastest times in school history. Each running the distance for the first time in their collegiate career, Shadid clocked a time of 1:52.35, while Seymour was at 1:54.01.

Senior Taylor Floyd Mews and junior Will Anderson added top-10 times in the 3,000m run for the Bradley men, improving on their PRs. Floyd Mews improved his mark by more than a second for the eighth-best time in BU history at 8:20.65, while Anderson now ranks ninth at 8:22.0 – 3.65 seconds better than his previous best.

The BU women were just as impressive on Saturday as four added their name to the Bradley record book.

In the 800m run, junior Niamh Markham clocked a time of 2:13.34 for the sixth-best mark in school history, while junior Kathryn Adelman now ranks eighth at 2:14.17.

Juniors Brooke Nusser and Natalie Burant added top five times in the mile and 3,000m run, respectively. Nusser's time of 4:53.94 was more than six seconds faster than her personal best and is fifth in school history, while Burant shaved more than 14 seconds off her PR at 9:53.16 to rank fifth in the BU record book.

The Braves are back in action next weekend, competing at the Iowa State Classic and the GVSU Big Meet.
