Hartman Named MVC Track Athlete of the Week

For the third-straight week, a member of the Bradley men's track and field team was honored by the Missouri Valley Conference as sophomore Alec Hartman collected the conference's Male Track Athlete of the Week accolades on Tuesday.

Hartman had a record-performance at Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational on Saturday afternoon with the sophomore placing second of 46 runners in the 800m run. Hartman's time of 1:50.32 broke his own school record by more than a second, while also ranking as the top time in the MVC this year (1.66 ahead of second place).

After his performance at Notre Dame, the sophomore now ranks 39th in the country in the 800m run, while also placing fifth in the Midwest Region.

Hartman earned the weekly accolade for the first time in his career. He joins senior Taylor Floyd Mews (Jan. 23) and junior Michael Ward (Jan. 30) as Braves to be honored by the conference this season.

Hartman and the Braves are back in action this weekend, competing at the Iowa State Classic and GVSU Big Meet.
