ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- For the second consecutive year Bradley Women's Basketball has a Missouri Valley Conference All-Freshman Team selection, with freshman guard Gabi Haack (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) earning the distinction for the 2017-18 according to an announcement by the league office Wednesday.

Bradley's leading scorer at 10.0 points per game, Haack has started each of the last 19 contests and averaged a team-best 11.3 points per game in Missouri Valley Conference.  The Braves had a Valley All-Freshman Team selection for the second consecutive with sophomore forward Chelsea Brackmann (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) earning the distinction last year.

The only player in the MVC to rank in the top 10 in rebounding (10th - 5.9 per game) and three-point field goal percentage (3rd - 38.9 percent) Haack connected on 58 three-pointers during the regular season for the seventh-best three-point total by a Brave and most at Bradley since Michelle Lund had 75 trey's in 2008-09.

Haack joined 2013-14 MVC Freshman of the Year and 2016-17 MVC Player of the Year Lizzy Wendell as the only freshman in the league since 1996-97 to collect 55 three-pointers and 170 or more rebounds.  Currently 10 points short of the sixth 300-point season by a Bradley freshman, Haack has 290 points to rank seventh among Bradley freshman scoring marks and her 172 rebounds rank as the third-best season total by a Bradley rookie.

In Valley action, Haack pulled down 6.1 rebounds per game and boasted a 1.76 assist-to-turnover ratio among league foes.  She scored a season-high 26 points and tied a school single-game record with eight three-pointers in her first career start against Western Illinois and has been in the starting lineup since, averaging 12.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in her starts.  Haack has scored in double figures 15 times for the most double-digit scoring efforts by a Bradley freshman since Katie Yohn had 16 in 2009-10 and she owns a team-best three double-doubles.

Haack and the Bradley Women's Basketball team face Evansville Thursday in the opening round of the 2018 MVC Tournament in Moline, Ill., taking on the Purple Aces in a 6 p.m. contest at the TaxSlayer Center.  Fans making the trip to the Quad Cities for the MVC Tournament are encouraged to attend a send-off (weather permitting) for the Bradley women's basketball team Thursday at 5:25 p.m. at the Radisson on John Deere Commons (1415 River Drive, Moline, Ill.) featuring the Bradley Basketball band and cheerleaders. Following the MVC awards presentation at 6 p.m. fans are encouraged to attend the Bradley pre-game party at the Green Tree Brewery Lounge in the TaxSlayer Center.
