PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley Women's Basketball and head coach Andrea Gorski recently announced the team's annual award winners at a banquet held at Bradley's Hayden-Clark Alumni Center.

Freshman guard Gabi Haack was named the team's Most Valuable Player after pacing the Braves in scoring at 10.5 points per game.  The first Valley freshman with 68 three-pointers and 180 or more rebounds since at least 1996-97, Haack connected on 68 three-pointers for the fifth-best season total in school history, while her three-point percentage (41.2) was also fifth among Bradley season marks.

A Valley All-Freshman team selection, Haack averaged 11.3 points and 6.1 rebounds in league play.  The highest scoring Bradley freshman since Heather Best in 1995-96, she finished with 327 points for the fifth-best season total by a Bradley frosh and her 182 rebounds is second among Bradley freshman totals behind only sophomore Chelsea Brackmann's record set just last year.

Brackmann took home a pair of honors as well with the forward recognized for leading the team in both rebounding (6.5 rpg) and charges.  She had six double-digit rebounding efforts in 2017-18 and a pair of double-doubles during a sophomore campaign in which she averaged 6.5 points per game.

Junior Vanessa Markert was selected as the team's Most Improved Player after averaging 9.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.  In Valley play, she scored 10.4 points per outing, while shooting 49.1 percent from the field.  On the defensive end, Market led the Braves in blocks for the second consecutive year with 36 rejections and turned back 23 shots in 18 league games.

Freshman Nyjah White and senior Danielle Brewer shared the team's Best Defensive Player Award.  A starter in each of the final seven games, White notched 28 of her team-best 36 steals in Valley play, while Brewer often drew the opposing team's primary ball handler on the defensive end of the floor.

For the second consecutive year senior Anneke Schlueter earned the team's free throw percentage award after shooting 92 percent (46-of-50) from the charity stripe.  Schlueter's season free throw percentage ranked second among Bradley season marks behind Genny Mueller's school record 94 percent set in 2002-03 and she wrapped up her time on The Hilltop fourth in career free throw percentage at 81.8 percent.

Fellow senior Madison Dellamuth was recognized for leading the team in assists at 2.14 per game.  The guard owned a 1.38 assist-to-turnover ratio and her 62 assists were almost triple her assist total from her sophomore and junior seasons combined.

Kellee Clay received the Bradley Built Award honor, in recognition of an individual's gratitude, ownership, accountability and toughness for the second consecutive year and shared the award with honorary team member Jalene Woolford.  Clay appeared in a career-high 15 games in her final season on The Hilltop and was one of the primary contacts for the Braves with Team Impact, which helped connect Bradley Women's Basketball with Woolford during the 2017-18 season.
