PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley Softball will host StrikeOut Cancer Weekend during this weekend's home series against Southern Illinois and a free youth clinic will follow Sunday's series finale against the Salukis.

Saturday's noon doubleheader against the Salukis at Petersen Hotels Field at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex will kick off StrikeOut Cancer Weekend.  Former Bradley Softball head coach Stefanie McAllister (1996-2001), who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch prior to the doubleheader.

In addition, both Bradley and SIU will be wearing special warm up shirts featuring the names of loved ones who have battled cancer.  Bradley Softball has partnered with the American Cancer Society through the organization's Peoria County Night of Hope and donations to the event can be made HERE.

Bradley Softball will also host a Home Run Derby immediately following Sunday's 11 a.m. series finale.  Three Braves will square off in the derby with Bradley Softball asking individuals to pledge to the American Cancer Society per home run.  Pledges can be made HERE.

The weekend concludes with a free post-game youth clinic following Sunday's contest.  The clinic is open to all children ages 6-14 and requires no pre-registration.  Participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment for the clinic, which will begin shortly after the conclusion of Sunday's contest.
