MURRAY, Ky. – Bradley Women's Golf has had to battle weather conditions throughout the spring and the final tournament before the upcoming Missouri Valley Conference Championship later this month was no different with Saturday's final round of the Jan Weaver Invitational cancelled due to overnight snow and cold temperatures in Western Kentucky.

The Braves moved from ninth to sixth in the team standings during Friday's action and finished sixth in the 14-team field at 30-over par 606 with rounds of a 307 and 299.  Central Arkansas claimed the team title at eight-over 584, with tournament-host Murray State second overall at 597.  Bradley was three shots behind fifth-place Arkansas State (603) and edged seventh-place Jacksonville State (607) by one stroke.  MVC rival Southern Illinois finished eight shots behind Bradley in ninth at 614.

Bradley had its own home tournament scheduled for March 30 & 31 cancelled because of wet course conditions and cold temperatures.  The Braves were a late entry into the Jan Weaver Invitational after the cancellation of the Bradley Spring Invitational, only to have this weekend's event shortened to Friday's 36 holes because of the weather.

Sophomore Taylor Ledwein earned her second top-10 finish of the year and the eighth of her career, tying for fifth overall at four-over par 148.  Ledwein highlighted Friday's action with a season-best two—under 70 in the second round.

Junior Frankie Saban missed her first top-10 finish of the season by one stroke, tying for 13th overall at 149 to finish one back of Ledwein.  Saban had the lowest opening round among the Braves with a one-over par 73 at the par-72 Miller Memorial Golf Course.

Senior Ally Scaccia, who tied Danielle Lemek school record for career rounds played at 120 Friday, fired a three-over 75 in the second round for her lowest round of the spring.  Scaccia was one shot out of the top 20 in a tie for 25th at 152.

Freshman Maddie Hawkins was one of four Bradley players in the field as an individual and earned her first career top-20 finish, tying for 16th at 150.  Hawkins carded her lowest two rounds of the season Friday, with scores of 76 and 74.

The Braves will head to Newton, Kan., for the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Championship which will be held April 15-17 at Sand Creek Station.
