NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Senior Zach Jewell is tied for 14th at three-over par 145 and the Bradley Men's Golf team is 10th in the 14-team standings after the opening day of play at the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate Monday.

After shooting an opening round 305 during a chilly morning, Bradley warmed up just like the temperatures to card an 11-over par 295 to close Monday's action in 10th at 600.  One of four teams in the field ranked in Golfweek.com's top 100, #92 Rice sits atop the leaderboard at three-over 571.

Lipscomb and Western Kentucky are nine shots behind Rice in a tie for second at 580.  Cincinnati is fourth in the field at 586 and Memphis rounds out the top five at 587.  The Braves are seven shots back of ninth-place Maryland (593), while Bradley has a three-shot advantage on 11th-place Belmont (603) heading into Tuesday's final round.

Jewell had the low opening round for the Braves with a three-over 74 at the par-71 Richland Country Club and followed up with the low round of the day for Bradley with a 71 in the afternoon.  He is tied for 14th overall at three-over 145, two shots out of the top 10 and has now fired 11 consecutive rounds of 74 or better.

Fellow senior Ethan Brue is one shot out of the top 20 in a tie for 21st at 148, chasing a first-round 76 with a second-round 72.  Junior Drake Bushong will head into Tuesday's final round tied for 38th at 151 after turning in scores of 75 and 76 Monday.
