Terre Haute, Ind. – Redshirt junior Haran Dunderdale highlighted day two of the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championship for the Bradley track team on Saturday afternoon as he became the first Brave in school history to win the 3,000m steeplechase.

Dunderdale ran the distance in 9:05.01 to claim his second career individual MVC crown – he also won the mile title at the last MVC Championship he competed in during the 2017 indoor season. The junior separated from the pack and won the race by more than four seconds over Riley DeMulenaere of Loyola.

Redshirt freshman McKenzie Altmayer led the BU women in the steeplechase, setting a PR in 10:54.44 to place fifth for the Braves. She recorded the third-fastest time in school history to score in the event, while Sam Lechowicz also finished in the top 10 by placing ninth in 11:01.44 – the fifth-best time by a BU runner.

Four Braves also advanced in the 800m run on Saturday. Freshman Alec Hartman had the top mark in the prelims at 1:51.71 and he will be joined by Scott Seymour in the finals, who ran a time of 1:52.24. Kathryn Adelman and Niamh Markham will both represent BU in the women's final as Adelman ran a time of 2:11.62 – the seventh-best mark in school history – and Markham finished in 2:13.65.

After two days of competition, the Bradley men are fifth of nine teams with 23 points, while the women sit seventh of 10 schools with nine points.

The final day of competition is set for tomorrow with a majority of the track finals being contested to wrap up the three-day meet. The action begins at noon CT at Indiana State.
