PEORIA, Ill. -- Redshirt junior Haran Dunderdale (Grantham, England/Carres) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship.

Dunderdale helped the Bradley men's track & field team to a sixth-place finish and the highest point total at the conference championship (57 points) in program history, breaking the previous mark of 55.5 points set in 1950.  He opened the weekend by winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase by more than four seconds with a time of 9:05.01 to claim his second career MVC title Saturday.  Dunderdale returned to the track the next day to place fifth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:53.64.  A finance major, Dunderdale owns a 3.47 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Dunderdale is expected to be among several Braves to earn spots in the NCAA West Preliminary, which will be held May 24-26 in Sacramento, Calif.  Qualifiers for the NCAA West Preliminary will be announced later this week.
