After another historic year in cross country and track, the Bradley men's team finished the 2017-18 year ranked third in the final Missouri Valley Conference Program of the Year standings. The Braves won their third-straight cross country championship in the fall and set team records at the indoor and outdoor meets this season, while also claiming five individual titles plus one relay crown this year.

Overall, Bradley finished fifth in the combined men's and women's standings as the BU women also won the 2017 MVC Cross Country Championship to complete a Bradley sweep.

The dominant distance program in the conference, the Bradley men opened the academic year by sweeping the team and individual titles at the 2017 MVC Cross Country Championship. BU won its third-straight team crown with five Braves placing among the top 15 at the title meet, while Jake Hoffert crossed the finish line first overall. Hoffert became the first BU man since 1965 to win the individual championship to lead the Braves to the team title.

Bradley carried its momentum into the track season as Bradley set team records with 78 points at the indoor championship (previous standard was 70 in 1979) and with 57 points at the outdoor championship (previous record was 55.5 in 1950).

The Braves also claimed four individual titles and one relay championship on the track as Daniel Gagne won the indoor 1,500m, Michael Ward finished first in the indoor 3,000m and 5,000m, Haran Dunderdale won the outdoor 3,000m steeplechase and BU claimed the distance medley relay at the indoor championship.

Illinois State finished first in the combined standings after winning both the women's indoor and outdoor track championships plus the men's indoor title. Bradley ranked second with two team titles (both cross country), while Northern Iowa won the outdoor men's championship.
