Bradley's Will Anderson was honored for his work on and off the track on Thursday as the junior became just the second runner in program history to receive Academic All-America accolades, earning selection to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Cross Country/Track & Field First Team.

One of just 17 in the nation to earn first-team honors on the cross country/track & field team, Anderson joins Marshall Moyer as the only two Braves in program history to land on the Academic All-America Team. Moyer received third-team accolades in 2015 before earning first-team honors in 2016.

Overall, Anderson becomes just the 10th Bradley student-athlete in any sport to collect first-team honors.

On the track, Anderson was one of just two Braves with four top-10 finishes at the Missouri Valley Conference Track & Field Championships this year. He scored in three different events overall at the conference meets, placing a career-best fourth in both the indoor 5,000m and outdoor 10,000m. He also finished eighth in the outdoor 5,000m, while crossing the finish line 10th in the indoor 3,000m.

Additionally, Anderson made his mark on the school's record book in 2018. A member of the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team, he recorded the program's fourth-best time in the indoor 5,000m with a mark of 14:23.77, while also ranking fifth in BU history in the outdoor 10,000m (30:17.30) and ninth in the indoor 3,000m (8:22.00).

Off the track, Anderson owns a perfect 4.0 grade point average, majoring in electrical engineering.

Anderson is the third Brave to receive Academic All-America honors during the 2017-18 academic year, joining Clark Emerson of soccer and Zach Jewell of men's golf. It marks just the second time in the 66-year history of the Academic All-America program that three Bradley student-athletes earned recognition (also in 2010-11), while Anderson and Emerson are the first pair of BU first-team honorees in school history during the same year.
