PEORIA, Ill. -- Former Bradley Men's Golf standout Ethan Brue has earned a spot in the 2018 USGA U.S. Amateur, which will be held in mid-August, after a second-place finish at a U.S. Amateur Qualifier earlier this week.

A two-time First-Team All-MVC honoree during his two years on The Hilltop and part of Bradley's first MVC Championship squad, Brue fired a pair of four-under 67's Monday and Tuesday at the U.S. Amateur Qualifier held at the par-71 Westwood Country Club in St. Louis, Mo.  He finished at eight under 134 for the tournament to finish three shots ahead of third-place finisher Cole Harris and seven shots back of medalist Trey Windstead.

Brue will be one of 312 individuals competing at the 118th U.S. Amateur, which is slated for Aug. 13-19 at Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course in Pebble Beach, Calif.  A total of 7,463 individuals entered into the 79 U.S. Amateur Qualifiers held across the country this summer.

The 2018 U.S. Amateur will feature two rounds of stroke play Monday, Aug. 13 and Tuesday, Aug. 14 at both Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course with the field cut to 64 for match play on the final five days.
