CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- A trio of Bradley women's golfers were named Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars according to a recent announcement by the WGCA, with seniors Chloe Horton (Coral Gables, Fla./Ransom Everglades), Frankie Saban (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg) and Brooke Thompson (Jefferson City, Mo./Jefferson City) earning the honor.

Bradley's three WGCA All-American Scholars tied for the fourth most in the Missouri Valley Conference.  The WGCA All-American Scholar Team included a total of 1,011 women's collegiate golfers from NCAA Division I, II & III.  The criteria for selection to the team required a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average and competition in at least 50 percent of the rounds scheduled during the regular season.

Both Horton and Saban earned WGCA All-American Scholars for the third time, while Thompson was a repeat selection.  Bradley's three winners pushed the program's total to 31 WGCA All-American Scholar recipients over the last nine seasons.

Horton played in all 10 tournaments as a junior, posting a career-best 78.18 stroke average to rank fourth on the team.  She had 19 sub-80 rounds, which included a career-best 71 in the opening round of the Cardinal Classic and closed the year with five rounds of 75 or better.  Horton opened the 2017-18 with a pair of top-20 finishes en route to a 77.40 stroke average in the fall.  An international business major with a 3.82 cumulative grade point average, Horton tied for 28th at the MVC Championship.  She was 24th in the MVC in stroke average and will enter her senior year 10th in school history with a 78.73 career stroke average.

Saban was a First-Team Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete in 2017-18 after a second-place finish at the MVC Championship, where she earned All-MVC honors.  A hospitality leadership major with a 3.86 cumulative grade point average, Saban led Bradley with a career-best 76.10 stroke average to rank third in the MVC in 2017-18.  Her season average ranks ninth among Bradley season marks and she was the only Brave to finish among the top three on the team in all 10 tournaments.  Saban carded a career-low 68 in the second round of the MVC Championship to take the lead heading into the final round and her three-over 219 at the Valley Championship was the best 54-hole score of her career. She heads into her senior year with the ninth-best career stroke average (78.25) in Bradley history.

Thompson had a breakthrough season, appearing in the team lineup in nine of 10 tournaments and playing in all 29 rounds.  She ranked fourth on the team with a career-best 77.62 stroke average, which was over 3.5 strokes lower than her career average entering the year.  Thompson was 16th in the MVC in stroke average and 14th in adjusted scoring average this past season.  She tied for 12th at the Cardinal Classic for a season-best finish, matching a career-best with a 73 in the opening round.  A health science major with a 3.60 cumulative grade point, Thompson fired eight rounds of 75 or better as a junior and her season stroke average ranks 20th among Bradley season marks.  She will open her senior season 13th in Bradley history with a 79.42 career stroke average.
