PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley Women's Golf returns to the site of last year's record-setting performance which included the lowest team round (284) and 54-hole team score in school history (876), with the Braves heading to Yorktown, Ind., for the Cardinal Classic Monday and Tuesday.

After opening the 2018 Fall schedule earlier this week at the Golfweek Program Challenge in Pawley's Island, S.C., Bradley returns to a familiar setting to take part in Ball State's Cardinal Classic for the third consecutive year.  Last season, the Braves finished second of 19 teams competing in the Cardinal Classic with Bradley firing a four-under par 284 in the first round en route to the lowest 54-hole score in school history (876) to break the previous record by seven strokes.  The Braves took fifth of 16 teams at the 2016 Cardinal Classic.

Play at the par-72 Players Club gets underway Monday with a 7:30 a.m. (CDT) shotgun start for the day's opening two rounds.  Tuesday's final round will also feature a shotgun start at 8 a.m. (CDT).  Joining Bradley in the 15-team field are Missouri Valley Conference rivals Evansville, Indiana State and Southern Illinois.  Four Mid-American Conference teams join tournament-host Ball State in the tournament with Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Ohio and Western Michigan representing the MAC.

Also participating in the two-day event are Cleveland State, Dayton, Indianapolis, Purdue Fort Wayne, Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Western Illinois.  BradleyBraves will provide links to live scoring (Golfstat.com) for all three rounds.

Senior Frankie Saban has been Bradley's top individual in each of the last two tournaments for the Braves, tying for 25th at the Golfweek Program Challenge.  Saban was one of three Braves to tie for 12th at last year's Cardinal Classic at five-over 221.  In six career rounds at the Players Club, Saban owns a 76.17 stroke average.

Junior Taylor Ledwein matched a career-best with a three-under 68 in the second round of the season-opening Golfweek Program Challenge and went on to finish 28th.  Ledwein has placed in the top 20 in each of the two previous Cardinal Classics, tying for 20th at last year's event after she tied for seventh as a freshman in 2016.  Owning a 73.50 career stroke average at the Players Club, Ledwein has shot 73 or lower in four of her six rounds at the course.

Senior Brooke Thompson has played in the Cardinal Classic each of the last two years and tied Saban for 12th at last year's event.  Thompson turned in rounds of 73, 74 and 74 last fall in Yorktown, Ind., and has fired a 75 or better in her last four rounds at the Players Club.

Junior Megan Medinger closed out the Golfweek Program Challenge with a pair of 74's and tied for 33rd overall at 229 in her first appearance the team lineup of her Bradley career.  Sophomore Maddie Hawkins was in BU's lineup for the first time since the 2017-18 season opener and tied for 44th at 233 at the Golfweek Program Challenge as she Medinger rounded out the lineup for the Braves to open the 2018-19 campaign.

The Cardinal Classic marks the halfway point of the fall schedule for the Braves, with Bradley having a week off before returning to the course Oct. 1-3 at the Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Mo.
