Natalia Barbery Named COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior women's tennis player Natalia Barbery (Santa Cruz, Bolivia/Evert Tennis Academy) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after going undefeated at the season-opening NIU Huskie Invitational in DeKalb, Ill.
 
Barbery was a combined 5-0 during the opening weekend of the fall season for the Braves, going 3-0 in singles to play to claim the title of her singles flight in addition to teaming with Sandra Maletin to post a 2-0 doubles record to win the doubles flight title over teammates Bozana Lojpur and Malini Wijesinghe.  An industrial engineering major, Barbery owns a 3.58 cumulative grade point average. 
 
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
 
Barbery and the Bradley Women's Tennis team return to action Sept. 21-23, hosting the Bradley Invitational at the Markin Tennis Courts.
