Gabi Haack Named COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore guard Gabi Haack (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping Bradley Women's Basketball wrap up the non-conference schedule with an 89-59 win over Chicago State.

Haack scored all 12 of her points in 12 first-half minutes and finished with 12 points, one rebound, one assist and one steal in 16 minutes of action against the Cougars. In addition to scoring her 500th career point in the matchup against Chicago State, Haack hit her 100th career three-pointer and is tied for the 10th fastest player in program history (42 games) to reach 500 career points. An elementary education major, Haack owns a 3.70 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Haack and the Braves open Missouri Valley Conference play Friday, hosting defending MVC regular-season champion Drake Friday in a 7 p.m. game at Renaissance Coliseum.
