NORMAN, OK – Sophomore Bozana Lojpur won both of her qualifying matches to advance into the Singles Main Draw, accounting for two of Bradley's five individual wins during the first day of action Thursday at the 2019 ITA Central Region Championships, hosted by the University of Oklahoma at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

Lojpur will join Bradley junior Sandra Maletin, who received automatic entry, in the 128-player Singles Main Draw at the ITA Central Region Championship.  Lojpur began the day with a 6-3, 6-1 win against Nebraska's Emma Worley, then earned her spot in the Main Draw by dropping a second Big Ten Conference opponent, Minnesota's Bella Lambert (6-1, 7-5).

The Braves earned a third win against a Power 5 Conference opponent when junior Nina Marjanovic closed the day with a 6-1, 6-3 victory against Arkansas' Claire Slaughter in the qualifying bracket consolation round.

Including Lojpur's first-round win, the Braves prevailed in their first three matches to start Thursday's qualifying action.  Senior Natalia Barbery defeated Omaha's Natalie Lorentz, while freshman Victoria Sanchez Bronzetti gave Bradley a 3-0 start by dropping Oral Roberts' Reagn Miley in three sets 6-7 (3), 6-1, 1-0 (4).

The Singles Main Draw will begin Friday: Maletin is scheduled to face Missouri's Ellie Wright, while Lojpur's first-round pairing has not yet been announced.

Friday's action will begin at 8:00 a.m. with first-round matches in the Doubles Main Draw, which will include three Bradley teams.  Lojpur and sophomore Nikki Perlwitz will face the Central Arkansas pairing of Engback/Ishimura; Barbery/Maletin will take on Creighton's Epperson/Gener team; and Marjanovic/Sanchez Bronzetti will face Minnesota's Huber/Kreinis.
