PEORIA, IL – Nationally-ranked Missouri State took advantage of a late goal in each half to rally past the Bradley soccer team for a 2-1 victory at Shea Stadium on Saturday night. The Braves are now 4-5-3 on the season and 3-3-1 in Missouri Valley Conference action, while the No. 14 Bears improve their mark to a perfect 12-0-0 in 2019.

Bradley struck first in the contest, scoring from the spot in the 26th minute of play. Senior Jack Lang dribbled past a Missouri State defender and drew a foul in the box with classmate Jha'Lon Johnson finishing the PK for his first goal of the season and the 1-0 advantage.

Trailing in a game for the first time in nearly a month, Missouri State eventually drew even with a tally in 43rd minute. The Bears' first attempt on goal was saved but the Bradley goalkeeper couldn't control the rebound with Matthew Bentley taking advantage for the 1-1 contest at the half.

The game remain deadlocked until the 81st minute. After a failed clearance from the Bradley defense, Greg Stratton fired the ball back toward net, which went off the BU goalie's hands and across the line for the 2-1 final score.

Missouri State finished the game with a 14-7 advantage in shots, while also holding a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.

The Braves continue their three-game homestand on Wednesday, hosting Loyola. First kick at Shea Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m.
