Ledwein Second; Bradley Third After Day One At Little Rock Classic

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Senior Taylor Ledwein fired a two-under 70 in the opening round of the Little Rock Classic and is second in the field, while Bradley Women's Golf is third overall in the 16-team standings after Sunday's action at the par-72 Diamante Country Club.

Ledwein, who carded a three-under 69 in the final round of Tuesday's round at the Chippewa Invitational last week, turned in her second straight sub-par round with a two-under 70 during Sunday's action. She parred her first 13 holes of the day before posting a birdie on two of her final five holes to finish the day at two-under 70. Mary Joiner of Western Kentucky leads the field at three-under 69.

Bradley is third in the team standings at seven-over 295 with the Braves posting their lowest team round dating back to the first round of the fall back on Sept. 8 (292). Western Kentucky is atop the team standings at three-over 291, while California Baptist is second at 293. The Braves hold a two-shot advantage on Louisiana-Monroe and UT-Arlington, which finished the day tied for fourth at 297.

Senior Megan Medinger posted three birdies during an opening round 73 to close Sunday's action tied for 11^th overall to help pace the Braves.

A trio of Braves are tied for 50^th after the opening day of play, with freshman Mara Flaherty, sophomore Megan Welch and junior Maddie Hawkins each carding opening rounds of 76. The first-round 76 was a career-best for Welch.

The second round of the Little Rock Classic gets underway Monday with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. Bradley will be on the first tee at 9:20 a.m.
