Taylor Ledwein Named MVC Golfer Of The Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Senior Taylor Ledwein (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week according to an announcement by the league office after her impressive performance at the Little Rock Classic.

Ledwein posted her second straight second-place finish, tying for runner-up honors at the Little Rock Classic played Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at the par-72 Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs, Ark. She carded rounds of 70-71-72 to tie for second overall at three-under 213, finishing five shots back of UTEP's Valeria Medizabal for medalist honors.

The three-time All-MVC performer helped Bradley to its second straight second-place team finish in a field which included #93 Western Kentucky along with six other teams ranked ahead of BU in the latest Golfstat.com ratings. Ledwein's 213, which tied for the third-lowest 54-hole score in school history, was the lowest three-round score by a Brave since 2014-15 as she captured her 15th career top-10 finish.

In addition, she helped the Braves post the second-best 54-hole team score (881) in school history. Overall, Ledwein had 12 birdies during the Little Rock Classic and was a tournament-best five-under on the par 4's.

Ledwein earned MVC Golfer of the Week honors for the sixth time in her career to join Danielle Lemek (19), Kelly Amundrud (6), Bari Erais (6) and Breanne Neufeld (6) as the only six-time MVC Golfer of the Week honorees in program history. In addition, she is the 21st player in MVC history to earn the award six times.

After missing the first three tournaments of the fall due to injury, Ledwein returned to the lineup to shoot par or better in four of five rounds and owned a team-best 71.60 stroke average in her two outings.

Bradley Women's Golf will open its 2020 spring schedule at the Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz., Feb. 21-23.
