PEORIA, IL – The Bradley soccer team capped homecoming weekend on campus with a thrilling 1-0 victory against Drake on Saturday night. The Braves are now 3-3-3 during the 2019 campaign with a 2-1-1 Missouri Valley Conference record, while the Bulldogs drop to 5-5-0 and 2-2-0 against conference foes.

Freshman defender Cameron Strang scored the game's only goal in the winning effort – netting his first collegiate tally. Off a quick corner kick, senior Jha'Lon Johnson sent a cross past the goal before his classmate Roman Schindler headed it back toward the net. Strang then deflected it in in the game's 56th minute for the 1-0 edge.

The one tally was all the offense the Braves would need on the night as the defense secured the clean sheet and the victory – allowing only two shots on goal in the final 35 minutes with the lead and none in the final 20 minutes of regulation.

Drake finished the game with a slight edge in shots, 15-12, with Bradley holding a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Senior Nathan Wisbey stopped all four shots on target for BU during the 90-minute shutout, claiming his fourth clean sheet of the season.

The Braves continue conference play on Wednesday, playing at nationally-ranked Missouri State. The Braves and No. 17 Bears are set to battle at 7 p.m. in Springfield, Missouri.
