Lasha Petree Named COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore guard Lasha Petree (Detroit, Mich./Arbor Prep) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Monday after being named to the all-tournament team at last week's Roo Holiday Classic.

Petree averaged a team-best 17.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game, while shooting 41.7 percent from three-point range as she helped Bradley split a pair of games in Kansas City. She opened the tournament with a game-high 22 points against Liberty, hitting 3-of-5 three-point attempts along with going 7-for-8 from the charity stripe. Petree also tallied three rebounds, two assists, a block and two steals. She followed it up with 12 points, one rebound, two assists and three steals in a 20-point romp over Eastern Washington as the Braves capped the non-conference portion of the schedule with a 9-2 record. A business major, Petree owns a 3.20 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Petree and Bradley Women's Basketball have a break for the holidays before kicking off a three-game Missouri Valley Conference home stand Friday, Jan. 3 (7 p.m.) against Evansville at Renaissance Coliseum.
