ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Sophomore guard Lasha Petree (Detroit, Mich./Arbor Prep) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week after scoring a career-high 30 points in last week's home win against North Dakota State according to an announcement by the league office Monday afternoon.

Petree hit 6-of-14 three-pointers and added two assists, a block and a pair of steals in addition to her career-best 30-point effort in the 70-64 win over North Dakota State as she helped Bradley extend its win streak to six games.  She scored 22 points in the first half, including 14 second-quarter points, for the highest scoring half by a Brave since Dena Williams had 22 points in the first half of a game against Jackson State on Dec. 18, 2004.

In fact, Petree scored Bradley's last 10 points of the second quarter (all in the final 2:38) to help Bradley erase a six-point deficit and tie the game at the half.  The leading scorer for the Braves at 16.8 points per outing, Petree has scored 14 or more in all but one game this season.  She had the first 30-point game by a Brave since Gabi Haack last November and was the first Bradley player to score at least 30 points in a home game since Michelle Young in the 2013-14 season opener.

The MVC Player of the Week award is the second of Petree's career and the second this season for the Braves with Haack earning the honor for the week of Nov. 25.  Petree's selection gives Bradley two MVC Player of the Week picks in the same season for the first time since Leah Kassing and Kelsey Budd both won the award in 2011-12.

Off to a 7-1 start to the year, Bradley Women's Basketball hosts Jackson State Tuesday at noon at Renaissance Coliseum for the team's annual Field Trip Day presented by Prairie Farms.  Approximately 2,900 area school children will be in attendance for Tuesday's matchup with Jackson State as the Braves try to extend their win streak to seven games along with adding to the team's nine-game home win streak.
