PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley Men's Golf opens its spring schedule at the Colin Montgomerie Invitational for the third consecutive year and will be playing the event for the fourth straight season, with the Braves kicking off the 2019 Spring slate in Spring, Texas, Monday and Tuesday.

After completing a Fall schedule in which Bradley won a pair of team titles in five outings, the Braves will ease into a Spring schedule, which includes six tournaments, with the Colin Montgomerie Invitational.  Bradley finished second at last year's Colin Montgomerie Invitational, two shots behind team champion Abilene Christian.

In addition to the two team titles, the Braves turned in three of the 12 lowest 54-hole team scores in program history and all five fall tournaments rank among the top 18 54-hole scores in Bradley history.

Play at the par-72 Augusta Pines Golf Club begins Monday morning (8:30 a.m.) and features two rounds of play with a shotgun state.  Tuesday's final round will get under way with tee times starting at 8 a.m.  BradleyBraves.com will provide links via Birdiefire.com to live stats for all three rounds.

The 15-team field includes five teams from the state of Texas in Abilene Christian, tournament-host Houston Baptist, Incarnate Word, Prairie View A&M and UTRGV along with two squads from the state of Florida (Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson).  Missouri Valley Conference rival Drake joins Bradley in a field which also includes Cal Baptist, New Orleans, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Southeastern Louisiana and Weber State, while individuals from Houston are also scheduled to play.

Senior Drake Bushong tied for 13th at last year's Colin Montgomerie Invitational (216) and has finished in the top 20 in two of his three previous times in the tournament.  Bushong tied for 17th in the event as a freshman and owns a 72.89 career stroke average in the tournament, shooting 73 or better in six of his nine rounds in the event.  Bushong owned a team-best 72.13 stroke average in the fall, finishing in the top-20 in all five outings.  His 113 career rounds played entering the spring are tied for the 10th most in school history.

Junior Charles Jahn earned a trio of top-20 finishes during the fall and will be playing in the Colin Montgomerie Invitational for the first time.  He capped the fall with a 72.67 stroke average to rank second on the team, playing in all five tournaments.  Jahn shot 75 or better in 13 of his 15 rounds in the fall.

Senior Daniel Lensing was MVC Golfer of the Week after taking medalist honors at the Crusader Collegiate in mid-September.  Lensing joined Bushong as the only Braves to post a pair of top-10 finishes in the fall and enters his final semester with a career-best 72.93 stroke average.  He fired a 69 in the opening round of last year's Colin Montgomerie Invite and went on to tie Bushong for 13th in the tournament at even-par 216.  Lensing owns a 73.33 career stroke average in six career rounds at the Colin Montgomerie Invitational.

Fellow senior Michael Mounce helped highlight the fall by tying the lowest individual round in program history with a 66 in the first round of the Golfweek Program Challenge in Myrtle Beach, S.C., in early September.  He finished in the top 20 in three of the last four outings of the fall, tying for 20th at the Flyer Invitational in Bradley's last tournament.  Mounce closed the fall with a 73.20 stroke average.

Branden Mounce rounds out the Bradley lineup, coming off a fall in which he averaged 75.80 per round.  Branden's best finish of the fall came at the Crusader Collegiate in Chesterton, Ind., where he tied for 14th.  He played in the Colin Montgomerie Invitational as a sophomore, opening the tournament with a pair of 73's.

Bradley will have a few weeks off from competition following the Colin Montgomerie Invitational, before returning to action March 11 & 12 at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate in Springfield, Mo.
