PEORIA, IL – Bradley Tennis experienced program history as a team and by its lone senior as the Braves (8-2) rolled to a 6-1 dual match victory versus Chicago State (2-8) Sunday afternoon at the Clubs at River City.

Completing its most-recent 4-match home stand with the weekend sweep against Western Illinois and Chicago State, Bradley has won eight of its first 10 matches against NCAA Division I competition for the first time in the program's 42-year history.  By winning at both singles and doubles Sunday, senior Malini Wijesinghe (Apple Valley, MN/Apple Valley H.S.) took over sole possession of second place on the school's all-time list for combined victories, pushing her total to 122 singles and doubles wins.

Wijesinghe teamed with freshman Bozana Lojpur to get the Braves started off on the right foot as the duo earned a 6-4 win at No. 2 Doubles.  Junior Natalia Barbery and sophomore Sandra Maletin followed with a 7-5 win at No. 1 Doubles to secure the leadoff, doubles point.

Freshman Nikki Perlwitz gave the Braves a 2-0 lead when she finished off a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 5 Singles and the Braves took control moments later when Lojpur secured a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2 Singles.  Maletin secured the team victory by pushing the Bradley lead to 4-0 when she claimed her 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 1 Singles.

Playing in front of her family, who made the long trip to Peoria from Bolivia, Barbery stretched Bradley's advantage to 5-0 by pulling out a 3-set victory at No. 4 Singles:  6-0, 5-7, 10-6.  After the Cougars scored their lone point with a 3-set win at No. 6 Singles, Wijesinghe finished off the 6-1 victory by winning a 3-set decision of her own:  3-6, 7-6 (1), 10-6 at No. 3 Singles.

The Braves now will play six of their next seven matches away from home, beginning with a weekend trip to Kentucky for duals Friday at Murray State and Saturday against Southeast Missouri State.
