SPRING, Texas -- Senior Branden Mounce fired a pair of 74's at the rain-shortened Colin Montgomerie Invitational, helping Bradley Men's Golf tie for eighth in the 16-team field in the first outing on the 2019 Spring schedule for the Braves.

Mounce tied for 24th overall in the 88-person field at four-over par 148, carding matching 74's as he was Bradley's top finisher in a tournament for the first time in his career.  He was two shots out of the 20 and four back of a top-10 finish.

Bradley was tied for 12th after an opening round 309 and sat in a tie for 11th when play was suspended midway through the second round late Monday afternoon.  The teams returned to the par-72 Augusta Pines Golf Course Tuesday morning to finish up the second round before thunderstorms forced the third and final round to be cancelled.

The Braves were +26 entering the day, but used a strong finish to the suspended second round to climb into a tie with New Orleans at +29 (605) for eighth in the final team standings.  Florida Gulf Coast claimed the team title at two-over 578, while Houston and North Dakota State tied for second at four-over 580.  Defending tournament champion Abilene Christian was seventh overall, eight shots better than Bradley at 597.  Stetson chased Bradley and New Orleans in 10th (607) and MVC rival Drake was 14th (613).

Junior Charles Jahn turned in the lowest round of the tournament for the Braves with a second-round 72.  He tied for 30th overall at six-over 150, two shots behind Mounce.

Senior Michael Mounce matched his brother's final round score of 74 to move up into a tie for 55th overall at 10-over 154.  Daniel Lensing earned a share of 59th at 155, firing a two-under on his final eight holes to finish off a round of 76.

Drake Bushong, who moved into eighth in career rounds played at Bradley (115), turned in matching 78's to round out the scoring for the Braves.  Bushong tied for 65th at 156.

Bradley returns to action at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate in Springfield, Mo., March 11 & 12.
