Junior Abby Jockisch of the Bradley cross country and track teams was recognized for her work off the track on Wednesday as she was honored as one of 10 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Good Neighbor Award recipients for the winter season.

The Valley recognizes 10 student-athletes three times annually, honoring the achievements of exceptional student-athletes through the Good Neighbor Award. In order to be eligible, the student-athlete must be in good academic standing, must demonstrate good citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service, and must participate in a sport, during the season of recognition.

Jockisch has helped lead the Bradley women's cross country team to three Valley titles during her career. She earned all-conference accolades as a sophomore when she placed seventh at the championship meet and also owns four top-15 finishes at conference track championships.

Off the track, Jockisch has twice been honored as a Missouri Valley Scholar-Athlete, while maintaining a grade point average of 3.74 in accounting and management & leadership. Jockisch has also been active within the Peoria community, volunteering at events such as the Megan Fong Blood Drive, Hult Center Teen Summit and Woodrow Wilson School.

Jockisch and the Braves just finished the indoor season with the women improving their place to seventh at the MVC Championship and more than doubling their score from last year with 41 points. The outdoor campaign begins on March 23 at Southern Illinois.
