Vote Bradley Athlete of the Month

It's that time again. With the calendar shifted to February, it's time to look back and for fans to vote for which Brave they believe had the best month of January.
 
Sophomore McKenzie Altmayer of the women's track team, junior Darrell Brown of the men's basketball team, sophomore Gabi Haack of the women's basketball team and senior Michael Ward of the men's track team are the four nominees for Bradley Athlete of the Month in January.
 
Each month, fans have the opportunity to vote for which Brave had the best month in their respective sport. Voting is open until Thursday at 3 p.m. and will be conducted through the @BradleyBraves twitter account.
 
McKenzie Altmayer • So. • Women's Track • Geneva, Ill.
• Recorded a pair of top-10 times in school history during the first month of the indoor season
• Ran the eighth-best mile at Bradley with a mark of 4:56.00 at Iowa
• Followed up with the fifth-best time in school history in the 3,000m run, clocking in at 9:52.79 at Indiana in her first attempt at the distance
• Currently ranks third in the Valley in the 3,000m and sixth in the mile
 
Darrell Brown • Jr. • Men's Basketball • Memphis, Tenn.
• Led Bradley with 12.7 points per game during the Valley's first nine contests of the year
• Also added 2.6 assists and 2.0 rebounds per game
• Scored a season-best 32 points against Indiana State on Jan. 5, including 25 points in the second half
• First Brave to score more than half of his points in a game since 2003 versus the Sycamores
 
Gabi Haack • So. • Women's Basketball • Elk River, Minn.
• Averaged a team-best 17.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 46.3 percent from three-point range as she helped Bradley to a 4-3 record
• Scored 15 or more points in six of the seven games and was 37-for-42 (88.1 percent) from the free throw line
• Helped Bradley to three MVC road wins, marking just the third time the Braves won their first three conference road contests
• Tied for the eighth-fastest player in program history to reach 600 career points and moved into seventh in career three-pointers at Bradley
 
Michael Ward • Sr. • Men's Track • Cardiff, South Wales
• Set the school record in the 3,000m run at the Washington Invitational, posting a time of 7:57.88
• Clocked the second-fastest time in Valley history (and fastest since 1999) with his time
• His time currently ranks as the 21st-fastest in the nation and is 16 seconds quicker than the next fastest runner in the Valley
• Also posted the fifth-best time in the mile in the MVC with a mark of 4:06.41 at Indiana
