Ledwein Tied For Lead; Braves Second At Babs Steffens Collegiate

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Junior Taylor Ledwein is tied for the individual lead and Bradley Women's Golf is second in the team standings after the opening two rounds of play at the Babs Steffens Hatter Collegiate Sunday.
 
Ledwein followed up a one-over 73 in the opening round with a one-under 71 in the afternoon at the par-72 LPGA International Hills Course to finish Sunday's action tied with Lamar's Laura Pasalodos Barcelo atop the leaderboard at even par 144.  The pair will head into Monday's final round with a two-shot lead on third-place Worapitcha Anndit of Seminole State, who finished the day at two-over 146.
 
Bradley was tied for third overall after a first-round 305 (+17), but tied for the low second-round score with a 19-over 307 as the Braves climbed into second in the team standings at +36 (612).  Lamar, which matched Bradley's second-round 307, is eight shots ahead of the Braves in first +28 (604).  Bradley has a four-shot edge on third-place Stetson (616) and five-shot advantage on fourth-place Albany (617) in the 12-team field. 
 
Senior Frankie Saban matched Ledwein's first-round 73 and sits one shot out of the top 10 after the opening day.  Saban, who is tied for 11th overall at 153, carded a second-round 80. 
 
Appearing in the team lineup for the first time, freshman Megan Welch is four back of Saban in a tie for 23rd at 157, two shots out of the top 20.  Welch followed up a first-round 80 with a season-best five-over 77 in the afternoon.
 
Senior Brooke Thompson matched her low round of the spring with a pair of 79's to close Sunday tied for 26th overall at 158.  Freshman Elyse Emerzian rounds out the Bradley lineup in a tie for 53rd overall at 167, turning in scores of 83 and 84.
 
Bradley also had three individuals in the field with two other Braves joining Ledwein in the top 10.  Junior Megan Medinger is tied for eighth at +7 (151), chasing a first-round, five-over 77 with a two-over 74 for her lowest round of the spring.
 
Also playing as an individual, sophomore Maddie Hawkins fired a career-best one-under 71 in the second round and will head into Monday's final round 10th overall at eight-over 152.  Playing in her first tournament since early October, freshman Sarah Nacos is also playing as an individual and is tied for 37th at 161 after round of 81 and 80 Sunday.
 
The final round of the Babs Steffens Hatter Collegiate gets underway Monday morning at 7:45 a.m. (CDT) with a shotgun start.
