WEST POINT, Miss. -- Seniors Drake Bushong and Michael Mounce both matched their lowest rounds of the spring with two-under 70's in the final round of the Old Waverly Collegiate to help Bradley Men's Golf climb into 13th in the final team standings Tuesday.

Facing its toughest tournament field of the 2018-19 season, in addition to playing its first 54-hole tournament since wrapping up the fall slate in mid-October, Bradley fired a four-over 292 to climb up two spots in the standings into 13th in the 15-team field.  Bradley finished at 897 to edge 14th-place South Dakota (899) by two shots and the Braves were four shots better than 15th-place Southern Miss (901).  Lipscomb finished 10 shots ahead of Bradley in 12th at 887.

Seven of the 15 teams finished under par, with Louisiana-Monroe leading the way at 18-under (846) at the par-72 Old Waverly Golf Club.  One of three teams in the top 60 of the latest Golfweek.com rankings and one of five top-100 squads in the field, #50 Ole Miss took second at 17-under 847 to edge #4 Vanderbilt by two strokes as the Commodores captured third at 15-under 849.  Little Rock (850), #56 Mississippi State (851), Middle Tennessee State (855), Chattanooga (862), #87 Memphis (867) and #92 South Alabama (872) rounded out the top nine, respectively.

Bushong finished out the round with his third birdie of the day to turn in a two-under 70 in the final round as he matched his low round of the spring and moved up into a tie for 48th in the standings at seven-over 223.

Mounce, who fired five birdies on the final day including one on the par-5, 552-yard ninth hole, was one shot back of Bushong in a tie for 54th overall at 224, following up his second round 71 with a two-under 70 Tuesday.

Junior Charles Jahn tied for 69th at 228, firing a final round 80 to finish out the event and is the only individual to place among Bradley's top three finishers in all nine tournaments in 2018-19.

Senior Daniel Lensing was one of three Braves with a birdie on the ninth hole to close out a six-over par 78 and was 77th in the field at 231.  Fellow senior Branden Mounce rounded out the team scoring for the Braves, carding four birdies en route to a two-over 74 to finish 79th overall at 235.

The Braves will look to defend their Missouri Valley Conference title from last year at the 2019 MVC Championship, which will be held April 22 & 23 at The Club at Porto Cima in Sunrise Beach, Mo.
