Bradley Track Opens Action in California

The Bradley track teams began its West Coast trip on Thursday night, running in the 5,000m and 10,000m at the Bryan Clay Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays.
 
Five Braves competed in the 5,000m at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Senior Michael Ward posted the top time by a BU runner, finishing the course in 14:17.11. He was closely followed by Jake Hoffert, who ran a time of 14:21.69. The times would rank as the top two marks in the Missouri Valley Conference this season entering the weekend.
 
Junior Gabby Juarez led the BU women in the 5,000m, crossing the finish line in 17:26.74, which would currently rank as the second-best mark in the conference in 2019. Freshman Emma Ehrhardt and junior Abby Jockisch also ran for BU, posting times of 17:50.55 and 18:02.55.
 
At the nearby Mt. SAC Relays, Michael Hahndorf represented Bradley and ran the 10,000m on Thursday night. He clocked a time of 30:46.82 in his first collegiate race at the distance.
 
Bradley continues action at both meets tomorrow with its first race at the Bryan Clay Invitational set for 1 p.m. CT and at the Mt. SAC Relays at 9:25 p.m. CT.
