PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior runner Scott Seymour (Kenosha, Wis./Mary D. Bradford) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after highlighting competition for the Bradley Track & Field team at last week's Bryan Clay Invitational.

Seymour ran both the 800 and 1,500 meters in Azusa, Calif. last week, clocking a personal-best time in the 800 meters.  He posted a time of 1:50.40 in the 800 meters for the second-best time in school history and topped his pervious personal best by nearly a quarter second as he now owns the fourth-best time in the event in the MVC this spring.  Later that day he ran the 1,500 meters for the first time during the 2019 outdoor season and crossed the line in a time of 3:53.14.  An accounting major, Seymour owns a 3.68 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

The Bradley Track & Field teams are scheduled to complete this week at the Drake Relays Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa, along with the Kip Janvrin Open in Indianola, Iowa, Friday.
