ST. LOUIS – The weekly Missouri Valley Conference Women's Tennis awards continue to feature a Bradley flavor.  For the eighth time this season, Bradley has claimed the MVC Singles Player of the Week as junior Natalia Barbery (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) was selected for the second time this season, according to an announcement from the league office Tuesday afternoon.

In addition to the eight singles awards, Bradley also earned three Doubles Team-of-the-Week selections, giving the Braves a total of 11 weekly awards during the dual match season's 14 weeks.  Barbery was previously named the MVC Singles Player of the Week Feb. 5.

Barbery earned a pair of straight-sets wins at No. 4 Singles this past weekend, helping the Braves (15-7, 4-1 MVC) to program milestones while completing the first individual undefeated Valley season in Bradley history.  Barbery finished Saturday's 6-1 win against Drake, Bradley's first win versus the Bulldogs in the 26-match series history, with a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 4 Singles.  She added 6-0, 6-3 win Sunday against UNI, technically becoming the first-ever Bradley women's tennis player to finish undefeated (5-0) during the regular season in MVC dual matches (freshman Bozana Lojpur also went undefeated in The Valley, but hers was the last match to finish Sunday).  Barbery finished the regular-season on a 7-match winning streak and her 12 wins in the No. 4 position equal the most at that spot in the playing order for a season in Bradley history.

Although Bradley finished runner-up in the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season standings, the Braves will be the No. 3 seed for the 2019 MVC Women's Tennis Team Championship this weekend at Northern Iowa.  Bradley will open tournament play in Friday's 5 p.m. quarterfinal against the sixth-seeded hosts at the UNI Tennis Complex.  Bradley's 15 dual match wins are the most in a season in program history and the team's 4-1 Missouri Valley Conference record also is the best league record in program history.
