In a vote of his fellow players, Bradley junior forward Gerit Wintermeyer (Wiesbaden, German/Friedrich-Ebert Schule) has been selected for the USL League Two All-Central Conference Team of the Season, according to an announcement on the league's website, uslleaguetwo.com, Tuesday.

Wintermeyer enters the 2019 college season as Bradley's active leader with 34 career points on 14 goals and two assists through his first two seasons with the Braves.  An All-Missouri Valley Conference first-team selection and United Soccer Coaches All-West Region second-teamer last season, Wintermeyer shared the MVC lead with 20 points during the 2018 regular season, leading the Braves with eight goals and tying for second on the team with four assists.

During his summer season Wintermeyer helped Chicago FC United (8-3-1) to the best record in the five-team Central Conference by leading his team in scoring with 16 points on six goals and four assists in his 11 games.

The USL Two all-conference teams were selected by the players themselves after each team submitted a ballot for multiple players at each position.

Wintermeyer and the Braves began preparation for the 2019 season with their first training session of the preseason Wednesday morning.  One of 14 returning letterman, Wintermeyer also is among a league-best eight returning starters for Bradley, which posted an 8-5-4 overall record in 2018.  The Braves will not waste any time challenging themselves against outside competition in the preseason, hosting former Valley rival and perennial national power Creighton Saturday night at Shea Stadium.

Admission will be FREE for Saturday night's 7 p.m. exhibition versus the Bluejays.
