WESTLAKE, OH – The vice president title for Bradley University's director of athletics, Dr. Chris Reynolds, extends beyond the institution's campus.  Bradley's Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, Reynolds has been named the 1st Vice President for the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association, according to the release of the organization's officers announced Monday.

Now in its 19th year, the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association's mission is to enhance initiatives common to its Division I-AAA membership (the Division I institutions that do not sponsor football), in particular, aspects related to their flagship basketball programs.  Scott Leykam, vice president for athletics at the University of Portland, will serve as the D1-AAA ADA president in 2019-20.  In addition to Reynolds, the organization's officers this year include 2nd Vice President Kim Record, director of athletics at the University of North Carolina Greensboro; 3rd Vice President Simon Gray, director of athletics at Niagara University; Secretary Robert Lineburg, director of athletics at Radford University; and Treasurer Ken Kavanagh, director of athletics at Florida Gulf Coast University.

"It is an honor to represent, not only Bradley University, but the student-athletes, coaches, staff and administrators from the many Division I-AAA institutions across the country," said Reynolds.  "This organization aligns well with the mission of Bradley Athletics as an advocate for providing the tools essential for the success of our student-athletes in competition, in the classroom and in life beyond athletics."

Reynolds has begun his fifth year overseeing the Bradley University Department of Athletics, his second with the title of Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, and has led the Braves to record-breaking achievements and unprecedented success athletically, academically and in the community during his first four years at the helm.  In addition to his position with the Division I-AAA ADA, Reynolds enters his second year as a member of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Committee.

Under Reynolds' leadership, the Braves have enjoyed their most successful run in department history across all sports. During the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, Bradley claimed six Missouri Valley Conference Championships – its most in any two-year span in school history – and has won nine conference titles overall in Reynolds' first four years. Bradley also finished the 2018-19 year ranked fifth in the MVC All-Sports standings – the top-ranked private school in the conference and the Braves' highest finish since the 1987-88 campaign.  The competitive success of the Braves has coincided with record-setting performances in the classroom:  Bradley has won three of the last four MVC Academic Trophies and was ranked among the top five NCAA Division I institutions in the most-recent NCAA reporting of Academic Progress Rates.
