ST. LOUIS – Two weeks, two Missouri Valley Conference Player-of-the-Week awards for Bradley Soccer.  A week after senior Jacob McKee was named the MVC Defensive Player of the Week, junior forward Gerit Wintermeyer (Wiesbaden, Germany) has been tabbed The Valley Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, according to an announcement by the league office Tuesday.

A preseason All-MVC selection, Wintermeyer helped extend Bradley's non-conference unbeaten streak to 17 games by scoring the lone goal in Friday's 1-0 win against IUPUI and hitting the net again in Sunday's 2-2 draw against Oakland, both at Shea Stadium.  Bradley's active career scoring leader, Wintermeyer pushed his totals to 16 career goals and 38 career points with his first two tallies of the 2019 season.

This week's recognition marks the second MVC Offensive Player-of-the-Week award in Wintermeyer's career.  He also claimed the award Oct. 23, 2018 and now is the sixth player in Bradley history to earn multiple MVC Offensive Player-of-the-Week honors, the first since Christian Okeke Oct. 7, 2013 and Sept. 2, 2014.

Aided by Wintermeyer's efforts, Bradley (1-0-2) is undefeated through its first three games of 2019 and the Braves have extended their non-conference unbeaten streak to 17 games (9-0-8) since Oct. 17, 2017.  The Braves will look to equal the program's all-time record, an 18-game (15-0-3) run during the 1997 and 1998 seasons, when they host Eastern Illinois Friday at 7 p.m. at Shea Stadium.

Friday's game will be Kaboom!'s Club Member Recognition at Shea Stadium.  All members of the Kaboom!'s Club are invited to participate in a pregame recognition ceremony and will take the field with the Braves during pregame introductions.  To learn more about the Kaboom!'s Club, click the link beneath the Support menu at BradleyBraves.com or contact the Bradley Athletics Ticket Office (309-677-2625 or BradleyTicketOffice@bradley.edu).
