CHICAGO – Bradley's seven players combined for an 11-2 record during their first day of the 2019 fall tourney season and freshman Victoria Sánchez Bronzetti was one of four Braves to post a 3-0 record during the first day of the Chicago State Cougar Invitational.

The Chicago State Cougar Invitational is a non-flighted competition featuring players from Bradley, Bellarmine, Cardinal Stritch, University of Chicago, Chicago State, Illinois State and Valparaiso.

The Braves started the day with one round of singles action with five matches against Valparaiso players and one each versus players from Illinois State and Cardinal Stritch. Junior Sandra Maletin set the tone for the Braves, who combined for a 5-2 singles record, by rolling to a 6-2, 6-0 win against Valparaiso's Claire Czerwonka.

Sánchez Bronzetti contributed to the win column with a 6-2, 7-5 victory against Valpo's Amanda Tabanera, while the Braves also received singles wins from Nikki Perlwitz, Nina Marjanovic and Kinga Kovacs.

All three of Bradley's doubles teams posted 2-0 records Saturday: Natalia Barbery and Maletin continued their 3-year partnership and were joined by the duos of Lojpur/Perlwitz and Marjanovic/Sánchez Bronzetti in the undefeated doubles play.

Sunday's final day of the CSU Cougar Invitational should feature two rounds of singles action and one round of doubles play. Matchups are to be determined.
