LAST WEEK'S RESULTS
Friday, Sept. 13 vs. EASTERN ILLINOIS, H, L, 1-0
Sunday, Sept. 15 at Northern Illinois, A, L, 2-1

STREAKS END AGAINST PANTHERS
  • Bradley carried some lengthy unbeaten streaks into Friday's game against Eastern Illinois, only to see them come to an end in a game the Braves dominated in every category but the final score.
  • The 1-0 loss to the visiting Panthers ended Bradley's program-record-equalling non-conference unbeaten streak at 17 games (9-0-8), dating to Oct. 17, 2017.
  • The Braves also had been 9-0-0 all-time at Shea Stadium against Eastern Illinois and was unbeaten (7-0-1) in their last seven games versus the Panthers, dating to the 2009 season.
  • Bradley suffered the 1-0 loss Friday, despite outshooting the Panthers, 19-6, allowing only two shots on goal and finishing with a 12-2 advantage in corner kicks.

WINTERMEYER EQUALS SHOTS RECORD
  • Junior forward Gerit Wintermeyer (Wiesbaden, Germany) equaled the Bradley Soccer single-game record when he totaled nine shots Friday against Eastern Illinois.
  • Wintermeyer became the fourth player in program history to record nine shots in a game.
  • Gavin Glinton initially set the record with nine shots Sept. 17, 2000 versus Brown and the record has remained in the "G" family ever since:  Preston Good Sept. 12, 2003; Grant Bell Oct. 7, 2013; and Gerit Wintermeyer Sept. 13, 2019.

SCHULTE SÜDHOFF NETS FIRST CAREER GOAL
  • Senior forward David Schulte Südhoff (Handrup, Germany) scored his first career goal in impressive fashion Sunday at Northern Illinois.
  • Schulte Südhoff joined the Braves in 2018 after graduating from University of Osnabrueck in his native Germany and is pursuing a master's degree in mechanical engineering in his second college season.
  • After appearing in only three games last season, Schulte Südhoff has appeared in all five games to start the 2019 season, including a starting assignment Sept. 8 against Oakland.
  • He scored his first career goal in the 63rd minute Sunday, finishing off a throw-in sequence by running onto a clearing attempt and striking a ball that had not yet bounced, hitting a laser from the top of the penalty area into the upper left corner.

SOLE FOCUS ON VALLEY OPENER
  • Bradley will turn its attention to its Missouri Valley Conference opener, a Saturday trip to Drake.
  • Without a midweek game this week, the Braves will have five days to prepare for their league opener.
  • The game against the Bulldogs will kick off the new, double round-robin MVC schedule format.
  • Bradley will face Drake twice in its next four games with the return matchup set for Oct. 5 at Shea Stadium to cap Bradley University's annual Homecoming week.
