PEORIA, IL – The doubles duo of junior Nina Marjanovic and freshman Victoria Sanchez Bronzetti won consecutive matches to capture the title of the Doubles White flight and the host Braves advanced four players into their respective singles flight championship match, highlighting the second day of the Bradley Invitational Saturday at the Clubs at River City.

Following Saturday's second-round action in the four singles flights, Marjanovic and Sanchez Bronzetti started their day of doubles by pulling out an 8-7 (9) win in the White Flight semifinal versus the SIU Edwardsville duo of Adams/Thibault.  With only a couple of minutes between matches, Marjanovic/Sanchez Bronzetti came right back to post an 8-4 win against the Illinois State combo of Fitzgerald/Jankulovska.

Bradley split its other two doubles matches Saturday: sophomores Bozana Lojpur and Nikki Perlwitz grabbed an 8-4 victory against SIUE's Tupper/Vizcardo in the consolation championship of the Red Flight, while senior Natalia Barbery and junior Sandra Maletin  were forced to retire while trailing, 6-3, in the Red Flight championship match against Illinois State's Damnjanovic/Vujicic.

Bradley's 3-1 record in doubles Saturday came on the heels of an impressive day of singles action: the seven Braves combined for a 5-2 singles record on the day.  Maletin advanced to the championship match of the top Bradley Flight with a 6-3, 6-3 win against Kaitlyn Rogosch of Western Michigan.  Also in the Bradley Flight, Lojpur advanced to the consolation final with a 6-4, 6-4 win against SIUE's Lara Tupper.

Barbery won a pair of set tie-breakers without giving up a tie-break point – 7-6 (0), 7-6 (0) – to advance to the Braves Flight final by downing Saint Louis's Adriana Gonzalez.

In the Red Flight, Perlwitz advanced to the final with a 6-2, 6-1 win against Western Michigan's Elizabeth Trupp, while Marjanovic also advanced to the final with a 6-4, 7-6 (1) win against Illinois State's Elena Jankulovska.

Because Perlwitz and Marjanovic are scheduled to face one another in the Red Flight championship, the final matches will be juggled.  Perlwitz instead will play Jankulovska and Marjanovic will face Trupp in Sunday's final round.

Bradley's seven players combined for an 8-3 singles (5-2) and doubles (3-1) record Saturday, giving the Braves a 15-7 combined record through the tournament's first two days.

Final-round singles action in the Bradley Invitational is slated to begin at 9 a.m. on the indoor courts at the Clubs at River City Sunday.
