BURLINGTON, Iowa – Bradley equaled the second-best round of the day Tuesday by posting a final-round, 321 and the Braves moved up one spot to finish seventh in the 15-team Missouri Valley Conference Preview at Spirit Hollow Golf Course.

The Braves were paced in the 54-hold tournament by junior Maddie Hawkins, who tied for seventh individually with a 3-round, 234.  Hawkins' final-round 77 tied for the sixth-best final round score of the tournament.  While leading the Braves at the MVC Preview, Hawkins secured her second career top-10 tournament finish (she tied for 10th at the 2019 Babs Steffans Invitational in Daytona Beach, Fla.).

Team wise, the Braves moved up a spot to seventh in the final eighteen holes finishing just two behind sixth place Butler. Host Northern Iowa won the team title winning by twelve shots over Missouri State and Drake which tied for second. Bradley's matched both the Panthers and Bulldogs final round score of 321.

Beginning the day tied for eighth in the team standings, Bradley equaled tournament champion Northern Iowa, as well as Drake, with the final-round 321.  Only rival Illinois State fired a better round Tuesday, posting a 316 to finish two spots ahead of the Braves on the team leaderboard.

Bradley's remaining players were tightly bunched. Senior Megan Medinger, who equaled Hawkins for low-round honors in Monday's first round with a 79, finished tied for 38th with a 245 total. Sophomores Elyse Emerzian and Sarah Nacos finished in a five-way tie for 42nd, just one shot more than Medinger. Freshman Mara Flaherty was just one stroke off their score and finished in a three-way tie for 47th. Sophomore Megan Welch, playing as an individual, tied for 50th with four others, one behind Flaherty. Welch's first-round 79 was just two off of her career best, shot last season at the Cardinal Classic.

Head Coach Halley Morell will have some time to prepare for her team's next tournament, as the Braves will not compete again until teeing off Oct. 21 at the Chippewa Invitational at the Birmingham Country Club in Michigan.
