DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- First-year Bradley Women's Golf head coach Halley Morell has been named the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Teaching and Club Professional Midwest Section Coach of the Year according to a recent announcement.

Morell was one of 21 individuals recognized with the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional annual awards which were selected by the Section Officers and Section Nominating Committee Chair in four categories across six regions.  The LPGA Executive Committee will select the overall national award winner in each category (Teacher, Professional, Coach or Junior Leader) among the section award winners.

In her first season as head coach of the Braves, Morell came to Bradley from Jacksonville State where she was an assistant coach.  A LPGA Certified "Class A" Teaching Professional, Morell also spent two seasons as assistant coach at UTEP.

Morell has been active with LPGA since 2017 when she served as Teaching & Club Professional Intern and National Championship Intern at LPGA World Headquarters in Daytona Beach, Fla.  During the summer of 2018, she was Event Coordinator for the LPGA Foundation, organizing LPGA Leadership Academies to help keep high school girls engaged in golf, in addition to assisting at LPGA tour events.  Morell assisted with LPGA Lesson Zones this past summer, along with serving as an instructor at LPGA Leadership Academy events.

In addition to Morell's recognition, former Bradley Women's Golf standout Laura Patrick (1998-01) was named the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Midwest Section Teacher of the Year.  A Class A LPGA Teaching Professional and Titleist Performance Institute Certified Instructor, Patrick has worked as a Teaching Professional for the Golf Academy of Three Rivers Park District at Baker National Golf Course in Medina, Minn., since 2003
