VALPARAISO, Ind. – Alone in first-place in the Missouri Valley Conference standings at 4-0 after a 60-47 win at Loyola Friday, Bradley Women's Basketball puts a five-game win streak on the line Sunday when the Braves face Valparaiso in a 1 p.m. game at the ARC to wrap up a two-game road swing.

Friday's win at Loyola coupled with a 70-68 Missouri State loss at Southern Illinois left Bradley (13-2 overall, 4-0 MVC) as the lone undefeated team in the Valley standings.  Valparaiso (10-6 overall, 2-3 MVC) dropped a 72-60 decision to Illinois State Friday night at home.

Sunday's outing against Valparaiso will be available on ESPN+ and BradleyBraves.com will provide links to live stats along with the WIRL 1290 AM radio broadcast.

Bradley owns a 9-2 advantage in the all-time series with Valparaiso after the teams split the regular-season series last year.  The Braves are 4-2 in road games in the series following a 76-73 loss last year at the ARC.  Bradley is 3-1 against the Crusaders in MVC contests.

  • Bradley's 4-0 start to MVC play matches the best start to league action in school history.  The 2008-09 squad, which won a school record 21 games, is the only other team in program history to open Valley play 4-0.
  • In addition to the best start to league play, the Braves are 13-2 overall to start a season for just the second time.  The 2008-09 team is the only other Bradley team to open a season with a 13-2 mark.  A victory Sunday at Valparaiso would mark the first time the Braves opened a season 14-2.
  • Bradley brings a five-game win streak into Sunday's game at Valparaiso and the Braves own a four-game win streak in MVC play.  The four-game Valley win streak is BU's longest since a six-game league win streak during the 2009-10 season which included a school record 12 MVC victories. Bradley has just one other MVC win streak longer than four games with the 2008-09 squad also posting a six-game conference win streak.
  • Bradley has averaged just 11.4 turnovers per game during its current five-game win streak and the Braves have committed 15 or fewer turnovers in each of those games.  BU averaged 18.0 turnovers per outing over the first 10 games of the season.  Bradley is 8-1 this year when having 15 or fewer turnovers with the lone loss at Michigan.  Last year the Braves were 11-6 when committing 15 or less turnovers.
  • Friday's win was Bradley's 13th of the year, giving the Braves a combined 46 victories over the last three seasons.  BU has 13 or more wins in three consecutive seasons for the first time since the 2010-11 (15), 2011-12 (18) and 2012-13 (14) squads combined for 47 wins.
  • Bradley held Loyola scoreless for the first 6:02 of the fourth quarter Friday and did not surrender a field goal to the Ramblers in the fourth until the 2:55 mark.  The Braves have held their last two opponents to a combined 3-for-24 shooting (12.5%) in the fourth quarter and foes are 17-of-77 (22.1 percent) in the fourth during Bradley's current five-game win streak.
  • Senior Chelsea Brackmann broke Bradley's career rebounding record Friday with her 845 career boards topping the previous mark of 844 career rebounds set by Leti Lerma just three years ago.  Brackmann is currently 21st in MVC history with 845 career rebounds.  The senior is also closing in on 1,000 career points, needing 62 point to reach the mark.
  • Friday, senior Chelsea Brackmann was named one of 30 national candidates for the Senior CLASS Award, designed to recognize seniors who have notable achievements in four areas: community, classroom, character and competition.  Brackmann is the lone candidate from the MVC this season and the fourth in program history, joining Michelle Young (2013-14), Jenny Van Kirk (2009-10) and Kelly Krumwiede (2008-09).  A health science major with a 3.57 cumulative grade point average, Brackmann was a First-Team All-MVC pick in 2018-19.
  • Sophomore Lasha Petree turned in her first career double-double against Loyola Friday (13 points & 10 rebounds) and knocked down a trio of three-pointers.  Petree has hit at least three three-pointers in each of the four MVC games and has made a league-best 44 triples.  She has made at least one three-pointer in 12 consecutive games, which is tied for the 10th longest streak in program history.
  • Junior Gabi Haack scored a game-high 16 points in Friday's win at Loyola to pace the Braves in scoring for the fourth time this season.  Haack needs just two points to pass head coach Andrea Gorski for 19th in career scoring at Bradley and is sitting 21 points (979) short from scoring her 1,000th career point.  In four career games against Valparaiso Haack has averaged 16.3 points per game and scored at least 12 points in each of those matchups.
  • Lasha Petree has 100 career three-pointers and is just the third sophomore in program history with at least 100 career triples, joining junior Gabi Haack and Katie Yohn, who owns the Bradley career record with 210 three's.  Haack made 127 triples before the end of her sophomore year, while Yohn connected on 112.  Petree is 10 three's from breaking into Bradley's career top 10, while Haack is seven trey's short of taking over second in school history.
  • Junior Nyjah White has scored in double figures in each of the last three games, averaging 15.0 points per game over that stretch on 20-of-33 from the field (60.6 percent).  White has scored in double figures in all four road games this season, averaging 12.0 points per game on 57.1 percent shooting (20-for-35) in those contests.

Bradley follows up Sunday's game at Valparaiso by opening a two-game home stand with a 7 p.m. game against Northern Iowa Friday at Renaissance Coliseum. The game against UNI will be Cram the Coliseum night which will feature a teddy bear toss at halftime.  Fans will be invited to toss new stuffed animals on to the Renaissance Coliseum court at halftime to benefit Cuddles for Kids.
