PEORIA, Ill. -- For the first time since the 2008-09 season Bradley Women's Basketball is receiving votes in one of the two national polls, with the Braves receiving votes in the latest USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll released Tuesday afternoon.

Off to the best overall (16-2) and Missouri Valley Conference (7-0) starts in program history, Bradley earned three points in the newest USA Today Coaches Top 25 to be listed fourth among the others receiving votes.  The Braves last earned points in one of the two national polls during the 2008-09 season after a 6-1 start to the year.  The Braves earned four points in the week five Associated Press Top 25 in 2008-09 following a win over Illinois at the United Center in Chicago.

Currently alone atop the MVC standings with a 7-0 record, Bradley will open a season-long, three-game road swing Friday with a 7 p.m. game at Missouri State, which checks in at 21st in the latest USA Today Poll and 24th in the AP Top 25.  The Bears are second in the Valley standings, one game behind the Braves entering Friday's game in Springfield, Mo.

Bradley's current eight-game win streak is tied for the third longest in school history, behind a pair of nine-game win streaks from 2018-19 and 2001-02.  The Braves posted wins against Northern Iowa (61-47) and three-time MVC regular-season champion Drake (77-76) over the weekend to sweep the MVC Iowa schools in the same weekend for the first time since 1991-92, which was Bradley head coach Andrea Gorski's senior year.
