ST. LOUIS – Bradley junior Sandra Maletin (Belgrade, Serbia) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office Tuesday afternoon.

Maletin turned in a pair of dominant, straight-sets wins at the No. 1 position during Bradley's season-opening dual matches this past weekend against IUPUI and Murray State at the Clubs at River City.   The two-time MVC All-Select honoree began the season Friday with a 6-2, 6-2 victory against IUPUI's Krystal Grubb, giving the Braves a 2-0 lead in their eventual 5-2 victory against the Jaguars.  In Saturday's matchup against Murray State, Maletin flipped the script from a straight-sets loss to the Racers' Claire Chang last year by rolling to a 6-1, 6-2 win against the two-time All-OVC performer, while putting the Braves on the board in the team scoring.

With her two weekend wins, Maletin moved into 10th place on Bradley's career singles victory list, now boasting a 47-23 (.671) career record.  She now has been named Valley Singles Player of the Week four times in her career.

The Braves (1-1) return to action with their first road matches of the year this weekend:  Friday at SIU Edwardsville and Saturday at Saint Louis.
