EVANSTON, IL – Senior midfielder Jim Rasmussen contributed to all four goals and made NCAA history in the process, leading Bradley (7-7-0) to its first-ever win against a Big Ten Conference opponent, a 4-1 victory at Northwestern, Sunday afternoon.

After Bradley fell behind, 1-0, Rasmussen assisted Jeff Williams' equalizer in the 43rd minute, then scored three times in overtime for what is believed to be the only extra time hat trick in NCAA history.

Rasmussen netted what proved to be the game-winner in the 94th minute, but with overtime rules in 1996 calling for two, complete 15-minute periods to be played, Rasmussen tacked on insurance goals in the 101st and 118th minutes.

With Rasmussen handling the offensive effort, goalkeeper Matt Marden made eight saves to secure Bradley's breakthrough win.

NOTE:  The Braves had been 0-7-0 all-time against Big Ten Conference competition before kicking off at Northwestern, but beginning with the 1996 win against the Wildcats, Bradley is 8-5-2 against the B1G.
