PEORIA, Ill. -- Fifth-year Bradley Women's Basketball Head Coach Andrea Gorski made five additions to the 2021-22 roster during the Fall Signing Period with 5-11 guard Nika Dorsey (Detroit, Mich./Renaissance), 6-1 forward Abigail Draper (Waverly, Iowa/Waverly-Shell Rock), 5-7 guard Sasha Koenig (West Branch, Iowa/West Branch), 5-4 guard Caroline Waite (Ames, Iowa/Ames) and 6-2 forward Callie Ziebell (Sparta, Wis./Sparta) each signing National Letters of Intent to attend Bradley.

An honorable mention all-state selection, Dorsey helped Renaissance to a Detroit PSL conference title as a junior along with back-to-back district titles each of the last two years.  She also took home first-team all-conference honors this past year and was a second-team all-area selection by the Detroit News.  Dorsey also garnered academic all-state honors.

"Nika is an extremely versatile guard that can bring it on both ends of the floor," said Gorski.  "She has the ability to play any of the guard spots and her style of play will mesh well with our team."

One of three Bradley commitments from the state of Iowa, Draper is a two-time all-conference performer for the Go-Hawks.  This past season she broke the school season blocks record and has helped Waverly-Shell Rock to back-to-back conference titles in addition to the first consecutive state tournament appearances in school history.  Draper enters her senior season nearing 1,000 career points for a Go-Hawks team that has combined for a 39-6 overall record over the last two seasons.

"Abbie is an inside/outside weapon who will bring a scoring punch to our team right away," added Gorski.  "She has a great feel for the game and can also play both post positions."

The younger sister of junior point guard Tatum Koenig, Sasha averaged 19.5 points, 7.1 assists and 4.5 steals per game as a junior during a 21-4 season for the Bears that included a conference title and reaching the state quarterfinals. She enters her senior season with nearly 1,000 career points (980) and over 300 assists (307) along with nearly 200 career steals (199).  As a sophomore she dished out 4.0 assists per outing, while scoring 15.2 points per contest.  In her lone season at West Branch with her sister Tatum, Sasha scored 12.1 points per game and tallied 3.5 assists per tilt.

"Bradley fans will be excited to know another Koenig is joining our program," stated Gorski.  "Sasha is one of the most competitive players we have recruited and will be a fun player to watch."

A three-time all-state performer, Waite has been named a first-team all-state selection both her sophomore and junior seasons after capturing second-team honors as a freshman.  The three-time all-region and all-district pick averaged 18 points, 2.8 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game in 2019-20.  As a sophomore, she averaged a career-best 20 points per outing to go with 2.3 assists and 3.5 rebounds per tilt.

"Don't let Caroline's stature fool you, she is one of the top shooters in the region and brings a no-nonsense competitive spirit everytime she steps on the court," said Gorski.

Waite has already topped the 1,000-point mark for her career and holds the school season record for three-pointers along with the school's single-game scoring mark with a 35-point outing as a sophomore.  In addition to her work on the hardwood, Waite has also lettered in swimming, where she has helped the Little Cyclones to a pair of state championships.

Ziebell averaged a double-double last year as a junior, collecting 15.9 points and 10.9 rebounds per game in addition to tallying over two blocks per contest.  A three-time all-conference pick, she has been named her team's offensive player of the year each of the past two seasons.  As a sophomore, Ziebell averaged 13 points and 9.9 boards per contest, while posting three blocked shots a game.

"Callie will provide size and strength inside for us and can also step out and hit the three," said Gorski.  Her versatility as a 6'2 post player will fit well with our style of play."

A three-sport athlete for the Spartans, Ziebell also lettered in volleyball and track; taking home second-team all-conference honors in volleyball last year.

The Braves will make their 2020-21 debut Saturday with the team's annual Red-White Scrimmage at 11 a.m.  Details on how to watch the Red-White Scrimmage are available HERE.
